🍐 Pear Ginger Smoothie

Spread the love

A creamy, refreshing smoothie with naturally sweet pear, warming ginger, and protein-rich Greek yogurt. It’s lightly spiced, satisfying, and made with no added sugar—an excellent option for a balanced breakfast or snack.

  • 1 small ripe pear, cored and chopped — about 150 g
  • ½ cup plain unsweetened Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract

Step 1: Preparing the pear

Wash, core, and chop the pear. Keeping the skin on adds extra fiber.

Step 2: Add the ingredients

Add the pear, Greek yogurt, almond milk, ginger, chia seeds, cinnamon, vanilla, and ice to a blender.

Step 3: Blend until smooth

Blend on high for 30–60 seconds until smooth and creamy. Add a little water if the smoothie is too thick.

Step 4 : Taste & serve

Taste and adjust the ginger or cinnamon if desired. Pour into a glass and serve immediately.

  • Pear: Generally considered a low-GI fruit and provides fiber.
  • Greek yogurt: Adds protein, which can help make the smoothie more filling.
  • Chia seeds contribute fiber, fat, and protein, helping slow digestion.
  • No added sugar: Avoid honey, maple syrup, dates, or sweetened yogurt to keep the carbohydrate load lower.

  • Stick to one serving (about 12–14 oz) rather than doubling the recipe.
  • Keep the Greek yogurt unsweetened and preferably high-protein.
  • If using this as a snack rather than a meal, consider reducing the pear to ½–¾ pear to lower the carbohydrate content.
