Creamy, refreshing, and naturally fruity 🫐 These Blueberry Frozen Yogurt Bites are made with Greek yogurt, fresh blueberries, vanilla, cinnamon, and chia seeds for a delicious bite-sized frozen treat. A simple, portion-controlled snack with protein and a low glycemic impact. Perfect for a cool, diabetes-friendly snack.

  • 1 cup unsweetened Greek yogurt — plain, high-protein
  • ½ cup fresh blueberries
  • 1–2 tbsp sugar-free sweetener, such as stevia or monk fruit, to taste
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds — optional, for extra fiber
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut — optional

Step 1: Coconut cream preparation

  • Wash the blueberries & dry them with a cloth. Lightly crush about half of them with a fork while leaving the rest whole.

Step 2: Mixing the yogurt

  • In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, sugar-free sweetener, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and chia seeds. Stir until smooth and creamy.

Step 3: Add bluberries

  • Fold the crushed and whole blueberries gently into the yogurt mixture. Avoid overmixing so you retain some beautiful blueberry swirls.

Step 4: Make the Bites

  • Line a small baking tray with parchment paper. Spoon approximately 1½ tablespoons of the mixture into 12 small mounds or silicone mini-molds.

Step 5: Adding the topping

  • Sprinkle a small amount of unsweetened shredded coconut over the bites, if using.

Step 6: Adding the topping

  • Place in the freezer for 2–3 hours, or until completely firm.

Step 7: Adding the topping

  • Remove the bites from the freezer and let them sit for 2–5 minutes before eating. Enjoy cold and creamy!

Nutrition will vary depending on the coconut cream, Greek yogurt, and sugar-free sweetener used.

  • Blueberries have a relatively low glycemic impact compared with many sweeter fruits.
  • Choose plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt avoids the added sugar commonly found in flavored yogurt
  • Using a zero/low-calorie sweetener instead of sugar keeps the carbohydrate content lower.
  • Adding chia seeds can increase fiber and may help make the snack more filling.

  • Keep the bites small and consistent—about 1½ tablespoons each.
  • Start with 1–2 bites per serving rather than eating directly from the freezer container.
  • For a more substantial snack, pair 2–3 bites with a small handful of nuts for additional protein, fat, and satiety.
  • Avoid adding honey, maple syrup, or regular sugar if you’re aiming to keep the recipe low in added sugar.
